Zenit St. Petersburg Volleyball Club

The Zenit St. Petersburg Volleyball Club was established in 2017 with the assistance of Gazprom and the Volleyball Federation of Russia to further raise the bar for national volleyball tournaments and rekindle St. Petersburg's tradition of winning male volleyball competitions.

In August 2024, the volleyball club became a full member of the Zenit family: the arrow symbol, which is familiar to football, basketball and handball fans, is now displayed on the shirts of the volleyball players. Zenit is one for all!

By the beginning of the 2024–2025 season, the team has won two silver medals at the Russian Championship and played three times at the Russian Volleyball Cup Finals and one time at the Finals of the European Volleyball Confederation Cup, a prestigious international club tournament.

Zenit St. Petersburg is one of the base teams of Russia's national team. Three players of the Club have won medals at the Tokyo Olympic Games: Ivan Yakovlev, Viktor Poletaev and Egor Klyuka. All of them are Honored Masters of Sports of the Russian Federation. Also competing for the Club is Jenia Grebennikov, a two-time Olympic champion, player of the French national team, who is now in his fourth year in Zenit St. Petersburg. In the off-season, the winners of the team competition at the Olympic Games in London – the setter Alexander Butko and the Head Coach Vladimir Alekno – joined VC Zenit St. Petersburg.
