International Chess Federation

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) unites 190 national chess federations. It was founded in 1924 in Paris under the motto “Gens una Sumus” (Latin for “We are one Family”). Today, FIDE is headquartered in Switzerland.

FIDE organizes Chess Olympiads, world championships, and other global events.

In April 2021, Gazprom became the General Partner of the International Chess Federation.

The partnership covered FIDE’s flagship events: the World Cups, the World Chess Olympiad and others.
