Zenit Handball Club

In October 2022, a new stage in the history of St. Petersburg's handball began when the Neva Handball Club was given the name of Zenit and continued developing the glorious traditions of this sport in the city on the Neva River.

Dmitry Torgovanov, Honored Master of Sports, Olympic champion, bronze medalist of the Olympic Games, world and European champion, has been the Head Coach of the team since 2009.

The first match in the new history of the Zenit Handball Club was played at the SEHA – Gazprom League international tournament, on the parquet floor of the Arena concert & sports complex. The Club now holds the home games of this prestigious competition in the same venue.

Due to its power fight and body contact elements coupled with the dynamic nature of the game, handball differs strikingly from other ball sports. Anyone who sees a game of handball once will want to visit more and more matches to enjoy the positive emotions from this sport which takes place at its fast pace on the court very close to the bleachers. All of this makes the fans feel like they are directly involved in the game.
