Cooperation with regions
Gazprom’s cooperation with Russian regions is governed by the Regional Policy Concept

Program for urban improvement of St. Petersburg
Gazprom is running a major program to facilitate the development of St. Petersburg. The program is comprehensive: it encompasses Gazprom’s core activities (gas infrastructure expansion, conversion of public transport to methane, etc.) and envisages promoting urban improvements in the city’s historical center, implementing restoration projects, and providing assistance to culture and sports facilities. This approach aims to contribute to the development of a comfortable urban environment, create opportunities for holistic personal development, and give an impetus to the qualitative growth of the region’s economy.
The St. Petersburg urban improvement program provides for designing, surfacing and repairing pavements, city streets and squares. These works include the renovation of road traffic management facilities, creation of small-scale architecture, replacement of doors, renovation of road and street lighting, and provision of artistic lighting for architectural ensembles.
Park of 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod
Under the agreement signed with the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gazprom provided support for the creation of a park commemorating the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. The Lower City and the Upper City of Nizhny Novgorod are now connected with a network of landscaped terraces that were arranged within the new public space. The park has areas for public events, walkways, and fitness zones. Gazprom provided its support to build amphitheaters and leisure areas, arrange a big light installation and provide architectural lighting for the Uspensky and Sergievsky pedestrian bridges, plant greenery, as well as renovate sidewalks and the embankment. The park is also equipped with access ramps for physically challenged people and parents with small children. A space that is beautiful, comfortable and accessible for everyone has been created for the residents and visitors of Nizhny Novgorod.
Improvement of Gazovikov (Gas Workers’) Embankment in Ukhta
Thanks to support from Gazprom, urban improvements were performed on the nearly-2-kilometers-long embankment in Ukhta. A wasteland along the right bank of the Chibyu River was turned into a modern area with various functions. The embankment is equipped with grounds for futsal, badminton, table tennis, and workouts, as well as children’s playgrounds and ropes courses. Over 15,000 shrubs and trees were planted as part of the improvement operations.
Renovation of embankment in Astrakhan
Funding provided by Gazprom to Astrakhan was used to renovate the city’s Central Stadium, perform urban improvements of Nikolskaya Street and the square near the monument to Peter I, and repair the building of Astrakhan State Technical University.
Gazprom was the main partner and sponsor during the renovation of one of the city’s key attractions – the Volga River embankment. The embankment is intended for active leisure activities and features a promenade, a skateboarding area, an area with sports grounds and children’s playgrounds, as well as bike lanes, a football ground and a basketball ground.
