Doubling in five years

Recently China has become the driving force of the NGV sector development, which made it possible to double the global NGV fleet within five years. The Russian NGV industry can't show such high rates of growth that the NGV industry leaders have. Nevertheless, alongside with constructing filling stations and purchasing equipment, large-scale preparation activities are underway now: agreements are being concluded with the regions, the regulatory base is being improved, the industry is mastering the manufacture of NGV machinery and equipment for filling stations. Proper provisional arrangements will result in the explosive growth of the Russian NGV sector already by 2020. As it is known, the Russians are slow starters but they drive fast.

A quite favorable geographic location of Russia allows delivering gas around the world. The crescent Asia-Pacific market is going to turn into a major gas consumer in the forthcoming decades. Two Far East-based LNG projects – existing Sakhalin II and emerging Vladivostok LNG – will enable Gazprom to strengthen its position in the Asia-Pacific market. The Atlantic states are supposed to be covered by another Gazprom’s project – Baltic LNG.

Despite a not too favorable international economic situation, sector-specific sanctions of the USA and Europe against Russia as well as a difficult financial environment in our country, Gazprom keeps enhancing its mineral resource base as well as getting ready for development operations at new discoveries. The Company identified Eastern Siberia and the Far East as the key exploration targets. Intensive exploration activities will continue in the Yamal Peninsula, Nadym-Pur-Taz region, in northern seas of Russia as well as in the CIS, Asia, Africa and South America.

Everyone’s New Year holidays were different – some were conquering snowy slopes, others – the sand dunes of Sahara. The international Africa Eco Race 2015 rally started on December 28 along the historic Paris – Dakar route. For the first time a gas-fueled KAMAZ sports truck customized with the support of Gazprom and VTB Bank – the official partner of the team, took part in the competition on the KAMAZ-Master team. A mobile gas filling station (MGFS) of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo will provide for refueling the car during the rally race.
