I would like to congratulate you on Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day!
Today it is impossible to imagine the global economy without oil and gas, and Russia – without Gazprom. Our Company stands firmly at the forefront of the world and Russian gas industry. The backbone of our philosophy is leadership. And every year we prove it in practice.
We were the first in the world to create a formidable gas production center beyond the Polar Circle. The world's first LNG cargo was delivered via the Northern Sea Route – the shortest passage from North Europe to Northeast Asia. This year we completed the construction of Nord Stream's second string – the one-of-its-kind gas pipeline that linked together the gas transmission systems of Russia and Europe.
Gazprom is the company pioneering the development of the Russian Arctic shelf. Already this year we are planning to start oil production from the Prirazlomnoye field. We will be the first in Russia to deploy a subsea gas production system that will be operational at the Kirinskoye field.
According to last year's results, Gazprom Neft topped the list of national oil leaders in terms of the production and refining growth.
Every year we set new records. For instance, last December our UGS facilities set the world record in daily deliverability. And this July the volume of daily gas supplies to Europe was the highest over the five years.
In Russia Gazprom does what others are unable to do. In the Russian East we are setting up a modern “turn-key ready” gas industry – from geological exploration to processing. Gazprom is the only company capable of comprehensively resolving gas supply issues in Russian regions. We are making large-scale efforts for converting motor vehicles to natural gas. All the Russian citizens are interested in the results of this work, since we are talking about the economic, social and environmental effects obvious to everyone. And for Gazprom it is also a chance to operate in a new promising sales market.
