Gazprom continuing its work on extensive gas infrastructure expansion and additional gas grid expansion across Russia
RELEASE
Release
The transition to natural gas significantly improves the quality of people's lives. The industrial and agricultural sectors receive a powerful impetus for their development.
Since the beginning of 2025, a total of 50 gas pipelines have been built, most of them in rural areas.
For instance, this includes inter-settlement gas pipelines to villages and rural settlements in the Voronezh, Rostov, Ryazan, and Kirov Regions, the Republics of Bashkortostan and Mari El, as well as the Republic of Udmurtia.
In February, Gazprom started the first-ever pipeline gas supplies to the Bolsherechensky District of the Omsk Region. Now, the possibility of gas grid connection is available to about 3,000 households in the villages of Kurnosovo, Kirsanovka, Gushchino, and Reshetnikovo, as well as in the district center, the workers' settlement of Bolsherechye.
A total of 1.2 million contracts for additional gas grid expansion are executed.
This is more than 85 per cent of the total number of contracts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of households' land plots that have been signed with the citizens by now. Inter alia, over 800,000 Russian families have already installed in-house gas supply equipment and use gas. At present, more than 1,000 houses a day get connected to gas.
Medical facilities and educational entities continue to switch to pipeline gas. As many as 950 contracts have been concluded with them, and pipeline gas has reached the land plot boundaries of 592 entities.
In 2024, the collection of applications for additional gas grid expansion commenced with regard to the households in gardeners' non-commercial partnerships that are situated within localities already covered by the gas grid. As of the date, more than 27,000 contracts have been signed with the residents of such gardeners' partnerships, and some of them are already performed.
The progress of the programs for gas supply and gas infrastructure expansion, as well as the progress of additional gas grid expansion, in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the year 2025 was considered by the Gazprom Management Committee today.
Background
Gazprom is working to expand gas infrastructure in 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation: the Company builds gas pipeline branches and inter-settlement gas pipelines stretching to localities that are still not connected to pipeline gas and lays inter-settlement gas supply networks. At present, these works are being carried out under the 2021–2025 programs for gas supply and gas infrastructure expansion in Russian regions.
Within localities already covered by the gas grid, additional gas grid expansion is in progress, i.e. pipeline gas is brought to the boundaries of households' land plots and to the boiler houses of medical facilities and educational entities. The works are performed at no cost to the consumers. The responsibility of household owners is to have gas infrastructure built on the land plot and to purchase gas equipment. To that end, regional authorities provide persons entitled to benefits with subsidies.
