Specialists of nine professions and specializations to compete for titles of best ones at Gazprom’s corporate Labor Festival

The opening ceremony for the third Labor (Professional Excellence) Festival of Gazprom took place today in Tomsk.
This year, the number of professional excellence competitions to be held during the Festival has been increased to nine. Taking part in the competitions will be about 200 people from 36 subsidiaries of Gazprom who emerged winners in the qualifying rounds.
The main venue of the competitions is the Corporate Institute of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk. Here, the specialists will compete for the titles of the best ones in six professions and specializations: technological compressor operator, corrosion protection specialist, fitter specializing in corrosion protection of underground pipelines, gas distribution station operator, cable maintenance & splicing worker, and chemical analysis laboratory assistant.
About 200 people from 36 subsidiaries of Gazprom to take part in competitions
Other venues of the Festival will host competitions among oil & gas production operators (at the sites of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg), drivers (at the sites of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol) and teachers of education subdivisions of the Gazprom subsidiaries (at the sites of Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod).
Also during the Festival, a professional excellence contest devoted to computer design and information technologies will be additionally held at Gazprom Corporate Institute in St. Petersburg, and competitions among persons responsible for occupational safety of the Gazprom Workers' Union will take place in Tomsk.
“The Labor Festival is an efficient tool for enhancing professional excellence and promoting best practices, as well as a venue for the development of new ideas. The participants are going to have several days of challenging competitions. My wish for all of you is that you prove yourself and demonstrate excellent performance at the third Labor Festival of Gazprom,” said Sergey Khomyakov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, in his video message to the participants of the Festival.
Background
The Labor (Professional Excellence) Festival of Gazprom offers a combined format of corporate professional excellence competitions that provides for several competitions taking place at once within a single event. The Festival is held at Gazprom every two years.
The first Festival took place in September 2018. It brought together over 100 participants from 30 subsidiaries of the Company.
The second Festival was held in September 2022. The total number of its participants exceeded 170; they represented 34 subsidiaries of the Company.
The third Festival will conclude on September 20.
