Long-term contracts signed for natural gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan

RELEASE

A number of long-term contracts for natural gas supplies to the Kyrgyz Republic were signed between Gazprom Export and Gazprom Kyrgyzstan in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024. Supplies under the new contracts will be carried out in 2025–2040.

Long-term contracts for gas supplies were also concluded between Gazprom Kyrgyzstan and large consumers of the Kyrgyz Republic, namely Electric Stations and the Bishkekteploenergo municipal enterprise.

Background

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024 is being held at the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 5 to 8. The main theme of this year's Forum is “The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World.” 

On June 7, 2024, the Contract for the transmission of Russian natural gas across Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan was signed at the Forum.

Gazprom Kyrgyzstan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, is an exclusive importer of natural gas to the Kyrgyz Republic and the owner of the republic's gas transmission and distribution systems.
