Gazprom to co-organize World Construction Championship 2024

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, Gazprom, State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, the Russian Student Brigades (RSO) National Youth Public Organization, Russian Railways, and the Russia – Land of Opportunity Autonomous Non-Profit Organization today signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024 the Agreement of Cooperation in the implementation of the 2024 World Construction Championship.

On the part of Gazprom, the Agreement was signed by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee.
The Fourth World Construction Championship will be held in Yekaterinburg in October 2024.
“With the support from Gazprom that has already become traditional, the World Construction Championship is becoming an increasingly influential platform. We will strive to make it the best one in the world. The competitions' participants, including representatives of the Gazprom construction complex, demonstrate a highest professional level, set benchmarks for the entire industry and continue to build up advanced skills to implement large-scale and technically challenging projects for the benefit of Russia,” said Alexey Miller.
Background
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024 is being held at the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 5 to 8. The main theme of this year's Forum is “The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World.”
The World Construction Championship is an annual event that combines competitions among professional construction industry specialists with a business program and an exhibition.
The First World Construction Championship was held in Sochi in 2021, and the year 2022 saw the second edition of the event, which took place in Kazan. In 2022, Gazprom for the first time co-organized the event and took part in its competitions.
In 2023, the World Construction Championship was held in St. Petersburg. The corporate team of Gazprom became the leader in the medal count in the main league competitions, also taking the most gold medals.
