Release
The Gazprom Management Committee took note of the information about the progress of additional gas infrastructure expansion in the year 2023 in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, namely the efforts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of private households and boiler houses of medical facilities and educational entities at no cost to the consumers.
As of today, Russian residents have signed some 1.081 million contracts with the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion (SO, Gazprom Gazifikatsiya), regional gas infrastructure expansion operators and independent gas distribution entities (GDEs). More than 842,000 (or 77.9 per cent) of these contracts have already been performed: gas pipelines have been laid to the boundaries of households. Three quarters of these works are performed by the GDEs of the Gazprom Group.
The constituent entities of the Russian Federation provide persons entitled to benefits with subsidies for the construction of gas pipelines within the boundaries of land plots and installation of in-house gas equipment. In line with the instruction of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, this kind of financial aid is provided in the amount of at least RUB 100,000 per household.
In its turn, the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion jointly with regional authorities continues a broad awareness campaign to inform the population about the procedure and advantages of additional gas grid expansion.
Connection to natural gas makes it possible to optimize heating and hot water costs, which is an aspect especially important for socially significant facilities, namely, healthcare and educational entities. The additional gas grid expansion activities to cover these entities started in March 2023. As of today, as many as over 430 contracts have already been signed with them, and almost a half (47 per cent) of these contracts has been performed.
