Crew of Andrey Vilkitsky ice escort vessel becomes Gazprom’s best in 2023

The results of the first annual contest for the prize of the Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, which is held among the crews of the vessels and floating drilling rigs employed at the Company's projects, were announced in St. Petersburg.

The prize of the contest went to the crew of the Andrey Vilkitsky ice escort vessel. The jury assessed the work of the contest participants in 2023 according to 17 criteria, including timeliness and quality of task performance, absence of comments from supervisory authorities regarding presence of any flaws, as well as the technical condition of the vessel.

The prize awarded to the crew of Andrey Vilkitsky is a bronze figure symbolizing a compass rose. It was created by the sculptor Mikhail Pastukhov under the auspices of the Ilya Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts. This prize will be presented to the new winner of the contest every year.

Background

The “Best Vessel (Floating Drilling Rig) of Gazprom” contest was launched in 2023 with the aim of facilitating the enhancement of professional excellence among the crews of sea vessels and floating drilling rigs, making maritime jobs more prestigious and promoting best practices.

The Andrey Vilkitsky ice escort vessel (part of the fleet of Gazprom Neft) performs mooring, loading and ship-tugging works, as well as rescue operations. Its crew is 21 people.
