RELEASE
Release
The Gazprom Management Committee took note of the information about the progress of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) construction project.
It was noted that three production trains are currently in operation and outputting commercial products at the Amur GPP.
The construction of the plant continues. The project is 90.84 per cent complete. Preparations for the beginning of start-up & commissioning operations are underway at the fourth production train, and construction & installation works are in progress at the fifth and sixth production trains.
At the same time, Gazprom continues to build the infrastructure of the residential microdistrict in the town of Svobodny for the employees of the Amur GPP and their families. Before the end of the year, the new houses will be ready for 250 more families to move in.
The Management Committee meeting also approved the Comprehensive Program for the reconstruction and re-equipment of gas and liquid hydrocarbon processing facilities of Gazprom and the Comprehensive Target Program for the reconstruction and re-equipment of automated process control systems at the facilities of Gazprom.
Both programs are synchronized with the activities aimed at Gazprom's transition to preferential use of domestic software. The documents cover the period from 2024 through 2028.
Background
The Amur Gas Processing Plant is located near the town of Svobodny in the Amur Region.
The Amur GPP is one of the largest natural gas processing facilities in the world. Its design capacity is 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The GPP will have a total of six production trains, each with the annual capacity of 7 billion cubic meters of gas, including three helium purification, liquefaction and packaging units.
The products of the Amur GPP are sales gas (methane) and the valuable components extracted from this gas. At full capacity, the plant will annually produce 2.4 million tons of ethane, 1.5 million tons of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), 200,000 tons of pentane-hexane fraction, and 60 million cubic meters of helium, thus becoming the global leader in helium production.
The Alexeevsky microdistrict for 5,000 residents is under construction in Svobodny. Apart from residential buildings, the microdistrict will have a kindergarten for 350 children equipped with a swimming pool, a school for 900 students, an outpatient clinic for children and adults, a department store, a 158-room apartment hotel, a multi-purpose sports complex with a cultural-and-leisure center, and an everyday personal services center.
