The document outlines the intentions of the parties to increase, in a longer run, the processing of Kazakhstan-produced gas at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant (GPP) to 11 billion cubic meters per year. The gas is extracted from the Karachaganak oil, gas and condensate field.

Background

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2022 is being held at the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 15 to 18. This year's main theme is “New Opportunities in a New World.”

The Karachaganak oil, gas and condensate field is located in the Aksaisky District of the West Kazakhstan (Urals) Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan within 130 kilometers from the Orenburg GPP.

NC QazaqGaz (formerly NC KazTransGaz) is a vertically integrated national gas company in Kazakhstan. The company's activities cover the entire value chain from geological exploration and production to sales of marketable products.

Gazprom and QazaqGaz are successfully cooperating within the KazRosGas joint venture (NC QazaqGaz controls a share in NC KazMunayGas). The venture was established on a parity basis with the purpose of buying gas from the Karachaganak field, processing it at the Orenburg GPP and selling it to consumers in Kazakhstan.

Gazprom Pererabotka is a subsidiary of Gazprom focused on the treatment and processing of gas, gas condensate and oil, as well as trunkline transportation of hydrocarbons.
