Gazprom brings gas to boundaries of over 40,000 households as part of additional gas grid expansion efforts in November
RELEASE
Release
The Gazprom Management Committee took note of the information about the progress of additional gas infrastructure expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, namely the efforts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of households at no cost to the population within localities already covered by the gas grid.
It was highlighted that, to this date, citizens have signed 684,700 contracts with the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion (SO, Gazprom Gazifikatsiya) and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators. More than 63 per cent of the contracts have been executed: a total of 434,600 households were provided with the possibility of gas grid connection.
The work on additional gas grid expansion keeps going at a fast pace in the areas falling under the responsibility of the gas distribution entities of the Gazprom Group. In November, pipeline gas reached the boundaries of over 40,000 households.
The SO ensures timely funding to cover the economically justified expenditures of GDEs (including independent ones) and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators.
In a number of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation – for instance, in the Chuvash Republic, the Stavropol Territory, the Moscow, Orenburg and Voronezh Regions and the city of St. Petersburg – over 90 per cent of the contracts for additional gas grid expansion that have been signed by now are already completed, with this figure reaching 100 per cent in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
Work is underway to implement the instructions of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, for providing the required additional gas grid expansion to medical facilities and educational entities. Gazprom is currently finalizing the register of the boiler houses of such facilities and entities in order to establish their connection to gas distribution networks within localities already covered by the gas grid.
The relevant units of Gazprom and its subsidiaries were tasked with continuing the work on additional gas grid expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
Background
The SO is the single responsibility center for gas infrastructure expansion and provision of free connections to gas distribution networks in 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Sirius federal territory.
On October 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued an instruction to extend beyond 2022 the social gas infrastructure expansion program within localities already covered by the gas grid, as well as to ensure that technological connections to gas distribution networks are established for the gas-using equipment of outpatient clinics, hospitals, rural outpatient & and obstetric units, and educational entities at no cost to such facilities.
