Gazprom receives Corporate Tax Award 2018

RELEASE

Gazprom won the Corporate Tax Award 2018. The Award had been established jointly by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and PwC in Russia.

The Company was awarded in two categories.

Karen Oganyan, Head of Department, was recognized as Tax Manager of the Year. This category evaluates a manager’s contribution to improving tax practices and Russian tax laws and increasing the efficiency of his/her tax division, as well as his/her public activities and business reputation.

In addition, Gazprom was named Tax Team of the Year in the Mining, Heavy and Construction Industries sector. The expert panel had taken into account, among other things, the tax division’s performance and contribution to improving the Company’s business efficiency, its projects in terms of their innovativeness, complexity and scope, and its compliance with corporate responsibility principles.

Gazprom’s victories in two categories at once are testament to the professional excellence of the Company’s employees who are in charge of tax policy.

Background

The Corporate Tax Award was established in 2016. The Award is meant to recognize the professional achievements of tax leaders, to facilitate the identification and promotion of best practices for corporate tax functions, and to foster a professional community among high-level tax experts.

The Award winners are selected by an expert panel made up of business community members, heads of business alliances, professional associations and research entities, and leading tax experts.

In 2018, over 100 Russian companies from across 14 sectors of economy took part in the competition.
