Alexey Miller and Mher Grigoryan, Armenia's Acting Deputy Prime Minister, discuss cooperation issues

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Mher Grigoryan, Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, took place in St. Petersburg today.

The meeting participants discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, including natural gas supplies to Armenia in 2019.

The parties also reviewed issues related to gas infrastructure expansion and underground gas storage in Armenia. It was noted that UGS facilities were ready for operation in the 2018–2019 autumn/winter period.

Background

Gazprom Armenia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, is focused on natural gas supplies to the Armenian market. In addition, the company transports, stores, distributes and sells natural gas, as well as upgrades and expands the gas transmission system and underground gas storage facilities in the Republic of Armenia.

The contract between Gazprom Export and Gazprom Armenia for the supplies of up to 2.5 billion cubic meters of Russian gas per year will be in effect until the end of 2019.
