Gazprom and YPFB sign Cooperation Agreement on personnel training

Sergey Khomyakov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Jose Luis Aguilar Salazar, Acting Vice President for Management, Contracts and Oversight at Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), signed today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017 a Cooperation Agreement on personnel training.

Gazprom and YPFB sign Cooperation Agreement on personnel training

The document provides for staff development programs in such areas as hydrocarbon production, transportation, marketing and sales; scientific and technical training at Gazprom and YPFB’s facilities; and specialized courses at Russian higher education institutions for YPFB staff.

Background

Gazprom's interests in Bolivian projects are represented by Gazprom International, a specialized company aimed at implementing hydrocarbon prospecting, exploration and development projects outside Russia.

In 2016, Gazprom and Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) inked the Agreement on strategic cooperation providing for joint efforts in exploration, production and transportation of hydrocarbons, construction and modernization of oil and gas infrastructure, and building of power generation capacities in Bolivia.

Also in 2016, Gazprom, YPFB, and Bolivia's Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy inked the Roadmap for implementing projects in Bolivia.

In the same year, Gazprom and Bolivia's Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy signed the Memorandum of Understanding to promote the use of liquefied natural gas.
