Constellation of Russia
Release
On June 12, 2011 the International Festival of Russia’s national culture “Constellation of Russia” was held in Rome (Italy) within the Year of Russian Culture and Russian Language in Italy and the Year of Italian Culture and Italian Language in Russia.
“Constellation of Russia” gathered such outstanding Russian teams as the Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Chorus, the Moiseev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble, the State Academic Northern Russian Folk Chorus, the Cossacks of Russia State Dance Ensemble, the Vainakh Chechen State Dance Ensemble, the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tyulpan State Kalmyk Song and Dance Ensemble, the Gaskarov State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Mengo State Academic Koryak Folk Dance Ensemble, the Chimes of Russia Ensemble, the Ingushetia State Folk Dance Ensemble.
The Festival was arranged by the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs (Rossotrudnichestvo). Gazprom acted as a general sponsor having provided the financial support for the Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Chorus as well as the Gazpromavia Aviation Company airliner for the Festival participants’ two-way flight from Moscow to Rome on a charity basis.
