Board of Directors reviews gas supply to Kaliningrad Oblast issue

The Board of Directors’ meeting is in progress at the Gazprom Headquarters.
The Board of Directors took into notice the information on Gazprom’s actions aimed at increasing natural gas supplies to the Kaliningrad Oblast to 2.5 bcm by 2010 and authorized the Company’s Management Committee to proceed with that work.
Background
In compliance with the Russian Federation Government orders Gazprom has developed and is implementing a Plan of Actions aimed at supplying the Kaliningrad Oblast with 2.5 bcm of gas by 2010.
The Company has so far obtained the necessary feasibility study approvals for the construction of an UGS facility in Kaliningrad and is engaged in the preparatory work for an increase of the Krasnoznamenskaya compressor station and the Minsk – Vilnius – Kaunas – Kaliningrad pipeline capacities.
In 2007 Gazprom supplied over 1.5 bcm of gas to the consumers of the Kaliningrad Oblast and 1.8 bcm is slated for the current year. A long-term gas supply agreement has been concluded with regard of future gas needs of the Kaliningrad Oblast.
