Masterpieces of Russian Art. Golden Map of Russia Album presented in Paris

A presentation of the Masterpieces of Russian Art. Golden Map of Russia arts album has taken place in Paris at the official residence of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to France. The album was first published by The State Tretyakov Gallery in partnership with the Fatherland’s Treasures museum supporting foundation and with Gazprom’s financial backing. The French language edition of the album was financed by Gaz de France.
The ceremony was attended by Sergey Ushakov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, Jean-Marie Dauger, Senior Executive Vice President of Gaz de France, Alexander Avdeyev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to France, Valentin Rodionov, Director General of the State Tretyakov Gallery, public officials and representatives of art schools, museums and other cultural institutions of France.
In his speech, Sergey Ushakov emphasized that collaboration between Gazprom and Gaz de France in arts & humanities would further improve the French-Russian relationship and strengthen mutual understanding between the two countries. “Our partnership ties with Gaz de France have been a success for so far 30 years, with interaction in arts & culture always playing an important role in our business”, said Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee.
“Gazprom and Gaz de France have multiprofile joint businesses. In addition to traditional projects on gas supply to Gaz de France, our solid relationships have been backed by joint activities in the cultural, environmental and research sectors.
The presentation of the Masterpieces of Russian Art. Golden Map of Russia arts album as part of our new strategy in the public relations sector fits well with a long-term partnership model”, said Jean-Marie Dauger, Senior Executive Vice President of Gaz de France.
Background
The Masterpieces of Russian Art. Golden Map of Russia arts album is part of the sweeping Golden Map of Russia exhibitional and publishing project by the Tretyakov Picture Gallery, awarded with the RF State Prize in 2003. The album is unparalleled among domestic and foreign arts editions and is unique for its collection of some 400 best works of the Russian fine arts and sculpture accumulated by the State Tretyakov Gallery and leading arts museums from 25 Russian regions. A range of images saw their first publication in the album.
The album was first presented in Moscow and at the Frankfurt Book Fair, being a big success and receiving a positive appraisal from Russian and foreign press agencies.
Additionally, the album was showcased in Leipzig, Vienna, Berlin and Prague with the participation of Verbundnetz Gas AG, OMV Gas GmbH, Wintershall AG and RWE Transgas.
