Meeting on gas transmission system overhaul issues held
Release
Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Management Committee Chairman has convened at the Gazprom Headquarters a meeting on overhaul issues for the Unified Gas Supply System of Russia (UGSS).
Attending the meeting were heads and employees of Gazprom’s core business units and a number of its subsidiaries.
The meeting emphasized that Gazprom was paying particular attention to capital repairs of the gas transmission system (GTS) facilities.
Along with the GTS reconstruction and technical re-equipment, capital repair is an essential part of Gazprom’s systematic work to develop, upgrade and expand UGSS. Gas transmission projects are a priority in the Company’s investment programs.
The participants underscored that from 2003 to 2006 Gazprom has repaired more than 7.5 thousand km of gas mains running from East Siberian fields. Gazprom annually performs capital and medium repair of 1,000–1,200 gas pumping units. Investments in capital repairs have increased 2.1 fold within the past 4 years.
At the end of the meeting the parties decided to further improve an overhaul control sub-system for UGSS’ key facilities, in particular to develop up-to-date regulations based on the latest achievements in the sectors of comprehensive technical inspection, materials, tools and equipment used for repair of gas production and transmission facilities.
