Platts global commodity news and information agency named Gazexport the winner in Downstream Businesses of the Year nomination at the Global Energy Awards ceremony attended by the world’s largest energy corporations’ CEOs held in New York.

Background

Gazexport is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom and the largest natural gas exporter in the world.

The Global Energy Awards ceremony was first held in 1999 by Platts – the world leader in the energy industry information and a part of McGraw-Hill Companies. Awards are presented for outstanding accomplishments and foresight in the global energy industry. Platts reviews 200 nominees annually, and the selection of runner-ups in each nomination is done by an international group of judges comprising of former heads of major energy companies, leading scientists and lawmakers, and local authorities’ representatives.

The Downstream Business of the Year award is presented in recognition of outstanding achievements in oil refining and gas processing, natural gas transportation, distribution, marketing and sales. The winner in this nomination is selected on the basis of financial results, operating advantages, innovations, environmental safety, and the company’s business strategy.
