Nikolai Maksyuta, Head of the Administration of the Volgograd Region.
In his speech Alexander Ananenkov emphasized the decision of the Gazprom Management Committee to increase the projected level of gas production to 580–590 bcm by 2020. In this context, the issue of the Gazprom gas transmission system extension and upgrade is getting increasingly important. The commissioning of the Volgogradskaya CS will enable to increase the throughput capacity of the Pochinki – Izobilnoye – Severo-Stavropolskoye UGS gas pipeline and will optimize gas transmission routes in southern Russia.
Background
The Volgogradskaya CS is supplied with five Ural-16-02 gas pumping units each having 16 MW of capacity. The total capacity of the CS accounts for 80 MW, it is capable of pumping some 100 mcm of gas per day.
The Volgogradskaya CS will convey gas to the Blue Stream gas pipeline and the Severo-Stavropolskoye UGS facility.
Krasnodargazstroy, a Gazprom’s subsidiary, acted as the general contractor for the Volgogradskaya CS construction. RUB 1.47 bln was spent on the construction of the compressor station.
