On June 3, as part of the events held to celebrate Children's Day, the United Primary Trade Union Organization “Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala Workers' Union” and the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the company organized a visit to the Zabota (Care) Children's Residential Care Home.
A total of 134 children aged from 7 to 18 years, 27 of them orphans, live and study in the facility.
“Our care home provides two forms of services: a permanent stay and a semi-permanent stay,” explained Uma Kachalova, Director of the Zabota Children's Residential Care Home, “and five units, namely the units for psychological and pedagogical support, medical and social rehabilitation, and a unit for special care. In the latter, we provide help to the children who are not able to move unaided. The special care unit is also a place of permanent stay and schooling for children with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Teachers, psychologists and speech therapists work with all children treated in the care home; the children also receive physiotherapy, massage and exercise therapy.”
“It has already become a good tradition to come for a visit to the Zabota Children's Residential Care Home where special children live and to express the care about these children,” said Bakhtiyar Attsiyev, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala. “And Children's Day is also a reminder for adults that we must make children happy.”
The gifts prepared with love by the gas workers were gratefully accepted by the children. On behalf of the entire team of the gas workers, young employees of the company gave the children board games, building brick sets, children's furniture, and sports gear, such as hoops, skipping ropes, rackets, and darts.
