On August 5–11, the OstroVa national youth forum took place in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. More than 500 young people and experts from all over Russia participated in the events that took place at this educational and patriotic youth platform. Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk became the key partner of the forum's educational program.
The company's employees participated in the forum as experts in the Oil & Gas subsection of the Production section: they presented a business game devoted to advanced offshore gas production technologies. Over 30 young people from nine Russian regions, including the representatives of sector-specific enterprises, students and holders of related technical professions, took part in the educational module.
Dmitry Ponomarenko, Deputy Head of Department – Head of Directorate at Gazprom, Valery Guryanov, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and Anatoly Sorokin, Director General of Gazprom Gazobezopasnost, gave an opening speech to welcome the participants of the forum.
The business game organized by Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was composed of an educational module. The company's employees held lectures on geology and prospecting of offshore fields, drilling and construction of wells, design and pre-development of the fields located on the shelf, and told their audience about the general principles of ensuring safe operation of oil and gas facilities.
The participants could immediately apply the newly acquired knowledge by creating their own project for the pre-development of a field on the Russian continental shelf. On the basis of the data on the amount of reserves and the geographic coordinates of the field, they were to develop and present to the expert committee, which consisted of the heads of relevant subdivisions of Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the technical details of the field pre-development process, logistics, environmental protection measures, and the activities aimed at the development of the area of operations.
The No Name Agreed team became the winner of the business game on the basis of the results of the educational program and the case study presentations. The team was comprised of employees of Gazprom's subsidiaries and students of industry-specific universities.
At the end of the forum, Anastasia Kozhepenko, Director of the OstroVa project, Head of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Sakhalin Region, expressed her gratitude to the employees of Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. She noted the active engagement of the company's employees in the arrangement of the educational program, a high level of elaboration with regard to all its aspects, the company's contribution to the proactive staff training, as well as to the development of the human capital in the region and in Russian Far East in general.
