On August 15, the concluding event of the “Meeting the Kind Horse” charity project for children with disabilities took place in the Rodoslavnoye ecovillage in the Lysogorsky District, Saratov Region.

The project is aimed at creating a comfortable infrastructure for children with disabilities to join equestrian classes and interact with horses. It was implemented in the course of 2023 by the Kind Horse equestrian tourism club with support from Saratov's gas workers.

The aid from Gazprom Transgaz Saratov helped the club to make the village territory usable for people with disabilities, inter alia, to equip it with access ramps and restrooms that meet the needs of the latter and to purchase saddles for riders with special needs.

Taking part in the event were the students of the Saratov Adaptive Sports Club who experienced the therapeutic techniques developed by the Kind Horse club, namely, hippovention (interaction with horses) and hippotherapy (therapeutic horse riding).

Before the interaction with the horses that was offered during the event, the event participants were told about the Vyatka horse breed and its specific features, as well as about how to handle a horse herd and take care of it. The guests were also instructed on how to properly interact with the animals. Later on, the children were invited to ride the horses and make friends with them under the supervision of the club's employees and a child psychologist.

“My son attends the Adaptive Sports Club. This is not the first time that Gazprom Transgaz Saratov has helped the club purchase necessary equipment. And this time, the company gave our children an opportunity to experience such a therapy. This kind of care is worth a lot!” commented the mother of a participant of the event.

Gazprom Transgaz Saratov systematically supports institutions and organizations that work with children with disabilities. Earlier, the company assisted the Adaptive Sports Club in purchasing sleds for sledge hockey and sports equipment for para-cycling.
