On June 13, the Superfinals of the national Men's Premier League table tennis club championship came to a close in Anapa.

In the final match, the Fakel-Gazprom table tennis club from Orenburg faced off with the UMMC team from the town of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Region. The opponent of the Orenburg team is one of Europe's top performing clubs, which includes reputed athletes led by Liam Pitchford, the bronze medalist of the World Team Championship and the leader of Team GB.

In the first match of the finals, the Orenburg players defeated UMMC by a score of 3–0. In the second match, it was enough for Fakel-Gazprom to win one micro-match to confirm its title of Russia's top club, but the team achieved a complete victory in the deciding game, winning 3–2.

All the athletes of the Orenburg club – Dmitry Ovcharov, Marcos Freitas, Alexander Shibaev, and Alexey Liventsov – performed well at the championship.

The key areas of activity of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg are production treatment, and transportation of hydrocarbons and a number of commercial products of partner companies.

The main source of raw materials for the company is the Orenburgskoye oil, gas and condensate field that contains unique components including methane, ethane, propane, butanes, helium, mercaptans, etc. This is why the Orenburg Gas Processing and Helium Plants of Gazprom Pererabotka produce dozens of various commercial products.

Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg is a subsidiary of Gazprom and Gazprom Pererabotka.

The enterprise includes 10 separate structural units.

The company has 5,600 employees.

The Fakel-Gazprom club was established on October 20, 2001. The general sponsor of the club is Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg.

In 2004, Fakel-Gazprom was admitted to the national Men's Premier League table tennis club championship, and became Russia's nationwide best team and the silver medalist of the Russian Cup in the 2004–2005 season. In 2010, it won the ETTU Cup. In 2011, Fakel-Gazprom for the first time competed in the European Champions League and won silver, and a year later the club became the first-ever Russian table tennis team to have won this tournament.

Today, Fakel-Gazprom is a five-time winner of the European Champions League, ten-time champion of Russia, and a four-time winner of the Russian Cup.
