As part of the efforts to combat COVID-19, Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan has allocated over RUB 2 million for the purchase of new medical equipment to be used by the Alexandro-Mariinskaya State Budgetary Clinical Hospital of the Astrakhan Region. The healthcare institution has been provided with 11 medical aspirators and 46 syringe pumps.
“With the new equipment, doctors are able to give patients faster and better aid. Long-term ventilation causes fluid to accumulate in the lungs, and medical aspirators can remove the fluid. Syringe pumps will help medical staff administer medications to patients, as a pre-filled pump can be connected to a patient for a 24-hour period. Our medical personnel were grateful for the support from Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan,” said Professor Irakly Kitiashvili, Head of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit at the Alexandro-Mariinskaya State Budgetary Clinical Hospital of the Astrakhan Region.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan also provided its corporate buses for rural residents who work at Astrakhan's businesses and institutions performing essential services (healthcare institutions, bakeries, law enforcement authorities, etc.), so that they could commute to and from work. The buses were provided for the period from April 2 to 5, when public transportation services were suspended by decision of the Governor of the Astrakhan Region.
