Volleyball

On September 4–7, Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta hosted the final round of its Summer Spartakiada Games.

During three competition days, teams of employees representing 23 branches from the Komi Republic and the Arkhangelsk, Vologda and Yaroslavl Regions vied for the main prizes.

The finalists competed in six disciplines – football, volleyball, swimming, track-and-field athletics, chess, and kettlebell lifting – after a six-month period of qualifying rounds.

At the closing ceremony, the winners of the Spartakiada Games were awarded in individual and team standings.

The main prizes went to the following teams: the Emergency Response and Recovery Directorate in football, the Vorkutinskoye Gas Pipeline Operation Center in volleyball, the Emergency Response and Recovery Directorate in track-and-field athletics, the united team of the company's administration and the Buildings and Structures Upkeep Directorate in swimming, the united team of the Logistics and Deliveries Directorate and the Communications Directorate in chess, and the team of the Corporate Security Service and the Medical Unit in kettlebell lifting.

In the team standings, the winners were as follows:

1st place – team of the Vorkutinskoye Gas Pipeline Operation Center; 

2nd place – team of the Emergency Response and Recovery Directorate; 

3rd place – team of the Corporate Security Service and the Medical Unit.

Background

Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom supplying natural gas to consumers in nine regions of northwestern Russia and ensuring gas transit within and beyond the former Soviet Union. The gas transmission system operated by the company stretches across Russia's northwestern areas from the Yamal Peninsula-based Bovanenkovskoye field and Baidaratskaya, the world's northernmost compressor station, to the country's western borders.

Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta's area of operation covers 16,000 kilometers of gas trunklines. In 2018, the company transmitted over 190.54 billion cubic meters of gas.

The company has 24 branches, including 14 gas pipeline operation centers, and 44 compressor stations with 89 compressor workshops. Gas transmission is performed by 442 gas compressors with a total installed capacity of 6,396.6 MW, while gas distribution is handled by 175 gas distribution stations.

Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta adopted the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system.

The company employs upwards of 13,000 people. It is headquartered in Ukhta, Komi Republic.
