On May 26, a charity bike ride took place at the Spartak stadium in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk as part of the Children's Hearts social project implemented by Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Over 30 employees of the company participated in the event with their family members. Donations were collected during the registration for the ride.
The bike ride was organized for three age categories: children up to 10 years old, children up to 16 years old, and adults. The participants were to cover distances of 500 to 1,500 meters.
All funds raised during the event will be used to purchase medical products and other goods for ill children.
Background
Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom focused on developing fields within the Kirinsky block offshore Sakhalin Island, including the Kirinskoye and Yuzhno-Kirinskoye fields, as part of the Eastern Gas Program.
By developing these reserves, the company will make a substantial contribution to meeting the energy demand of Russia's Far East and creating opportunities for natural gas exports to Asia-Pacific.
A subsea production system is used for the first time in the history of the Russian gas industry to extract hydrocarbons from the Kirinskoye gas and condensate field.
Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk adopted and put into effect a number of integrated systems, such as the ISO 14001:2015environmental management system, the OHSAS 18001:2007 occupational health and safety management system, the GOST R ISO 31000–2010 risk management system, and the ISO 9001:2015 (GOST R ISO 9001–2015) quality management system. The company employs over 600 people. Its head office is located in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
