On March 27, within the framework of the business program of the Oil.Gas.Energo exhibition in Orenburg, the leaders of 16 oil and gas companies signed an Agreement to ensure environmental safety at the Orenburgskoye oil, gas and condensate field, in the area of the Orenburg industrial hub, and in the adjacent territories.

The adoption of the Agreement was initiated by Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg and supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Property Relations of the Orenburg Region.

The parties assumed the obligations to comply with the maximum permissible emission limits, to perform industrial environmental monitoring at their facilities, and to establish operational synergies when investigating complaints about air pollution received from the public and other stakeholders.

“The document expresses the goals and intent shared by all the parties to the Agreement who are going to do enormous work for environmental protection. It is our task to ensure the environmental well-being of the people living in the region,” said Vladimir Kiyaev, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg.

“Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg has directly contributed to a significant number of environmental protection activities, including the adoption of high environmental standards at industrial enterprises across the region,” said Konstantin Kostyuchenko, Acting Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Property Relations of the Orenburg Region.

Background

The key areas of activity of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg are production, treatment, and transportation of hydrocarbons and a number of commercial products of partner companies.

The main source of raw materials for the company is the Orenburgskoye oil, gas and condensate field that contains unique components including methane, ethane, propane, butanes, helium, mercaptans, etc. This is why the Orenburg Gas Processing and Helium Plants of Gazprom Pererabotka produce dozens of types of commercial products.

Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg is a subsidiary of Gazprom and Gazprom Pererabotka.

The enterprise includes 10 separate structural units.

The company's team comprises 5,600 employees.

Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg has a successfully functioning integrated system for air monitoring which includes automated control stations in 24 localities, as well as 7 mobile environmental laboratories. The company also has a center for gas and environmental safety. Over 3 million air measurements are taken every year.
