On June 8, employees of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy joined the Green Spring 2019 national environmental cleanup, an annual event arranged by the Vernadsky Nongovernmental Ecological Foundation and the All-Russian Society for Nature Protection.
Employees from all structural units of the gas production company got together to clean the company's industrial facilities and adjacent areas. Alexander Koryakin, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy, prefaced the cleanup with an encouraging speech. He noted that care for the environment is among the priorities of the company's environmental policy and that environmental cleanups have become a good corporate tradition. “Participation in such actions is a form of civic activism. We have to start with ourselves and with our surroundings if we want to achieve something big,” he added.
Every year, more and more employees of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy are taking interest in environmental volunteering. The summer season brings with it the need to clean up not only household waste, but also tree branches and fallen leaves. The company's team responded in unison to the appeal of environmentalists, taking part in the cleanup and improvement of the company's sites and urban areas.
The environmental experts of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy are planning to hold a number of other activities in the near future. In the summer, the company's structural units will continue to tidy up by landscaping the areas near the administrative buildings. Meanwhile, the Green Russia 2019 cleanup and the Clean Forest action will take place at the industrial sites and adjacent areas. The Conserving Nature Together annual action for urban greening will take place in September.
