News from projects and regions
On February 16, the Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk Spartakiada Games 2019 kicked off the new sports season with an opening ceremony at the Zenit sports and health complex. This year, 16 teams will vie for the cup of the Spartakiada Games in 14 sports disciplines.
The event started with a parade of athletes, more than a thousand of which are taking part in the competition this year. In a following ceremony, winners of the previous Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk Spartakiada Games – team captains from the Gubkinsky Gas Production Site and the Shift Worker Camp Management Directorate – raised the Russian flag.
Sergey Shashmurin, Deputy Director General for Production, welcomed the guests and participants to the Spartakiada Games. He noted that the company's employees actively compete in sports events at various levels and wished everyone luck, fairness, and a healthy rivalry.
During the sports celebration, the finest performing ensembles from Noyabrsk gifted the audience with exciting dance, music and acrobatic performances. The ceremony also featured representatives of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg and semifinalists of the Minuta Slavy project.
The opening ceremony was followed by the first competitive performances in four disciplines: swimming, hall-based relay race, chess, and darts. The next competitions will be held over the course of the year, and the winners will be declared in December.
