Spartakiada Games 2019 kick off at Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk

On February 16, the Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk Spartakiada Games 2019 kicked off the new sports season with an opening ceremony at the Zenit sports and health complex. This year, 16 teams will vie for the cup of the Spartakiada Games in 14 sports disciplines.

The event started with a parade of athletes, more than a thousand of which are taking part in the competition this year. In a following ceremony, winners of the previous Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk Spartakiada Games – team captains from the Gubkinsky Gas Production Site and the Shift Worker Camp Management Directorate – raised the Russian flag.

Sergey Shashmurin, Deputy Director General for Production, welcomed the guests and participants to the Spartakiada Games. He noted that the company's employees actively compete in sports events at various levels and wished everyone luck, fairness, and a healthy rivalry.

During the sports celebration, the finest performing ensembles from Noyabrsk gifted the audience with exciting dance, music and acrobatic performances. The ceremony also featured representatives of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg and semifinalists of the Minuta Slavy project.

The opening ceremony was followed by the first competitive performances in four disciplines: swimming, hall-based relay race, chess, and darts. The next competitions will be held over the course of the year, and the winners will be declared in December.

Background

Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, develops seven fields, including four gas fields, two gas and condensate fields, and one oil, gas and condensate field.

The company's facilities, among them three gas production sites and three gas production directorates, are located in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, Kamchatka, and Yakutia. Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk takes part in the state-run Eastern Gas Program as a designated customer and operator for the Chayandinskoye field in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

As an operator, the company provides gas production and treatment services to independent subsoil users at the Gubkinskoye, Muravlenkovskoye, Novogodneye, Vyngapurovskoye, Tarasovskoye, Severo-Gubkinskoye, Vyuzhnoye, Metelnoye and Yety-Purovskoye fields (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area).

Gazprom Dobycha Noyabrsk has adopted and implemented an integrated management system consistent with the requirements of the STO Gazprom 9001 corporate standard and the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 50001 international standards.

The company employs more than 4,000 people. It is headquartered in Noyabrsk.
