News from projects and regions
On February 1, the Gazovik sports complex in Tatishchevo, Perevolotsky District, hosted a children’s volleyball tournament sponsored by Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg. The tournament brought together five school volleyball teams.
“Our athletes’ proficiency has significantly improved. This was made possible thanks to the sports complex built by the gas company,” said Natalya Kandaurova, principal of the Tatishchevo secondary school. “Before it was opened in 2013, children engaged in physical activities only if the weather was good enough since our village did not even have a gym. When Gazovik opened its doors, children started spending their school breaks at the gym and attending various sports classes in the evening and at weekends.”
Volleyball players showed an ambitious and committed game. In the course of an intense struggle, the home team from the Tatishchevo secondary school came out on top.
Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg attaches great importance to promoting mass sports in the area of its operation. Since 2007, in addition to the Gazovik sports complex in Tatishchevo, the Gazprom for Children program has also brought to the Perevolotsky District a multifunctional hockey rink in Chesnokovka and sixteen children’s playgrounds in another twelve villages.
