On August 10–11, Novy Urengoy hosted the Nether-Polar Cross 2019 motocross championship and regional competition for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. The Yamburg sports and technical club of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg was represented by five athletes in different age categories.

First prize in the Open Class (men 35 years & over) was taken by Evgeny Sklyarov, coach of the Yamburg sports and technical club, instructor at the Utility Vehicles and Special-Purpose Machinery Directorate. Silver in the 250cc Class (men) went to Dmitry Sklyarov, automotive service technician at Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg. Alexander Kryakov also took second place in the 125cc Class (male juniors and men). Seven-year-old Yaroslav Barmin, the youngest member of the Yamburg sports and technical club, won bronze for the team.

Based on the results of all runs, the racers from Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg took second place in the overall team standings at the Nether-Polar Cross 2019 motocross championship and regional competition for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area.

Background

Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. It operates in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area.
