The first round of the corporate Fakel Festival for amateur ensembles and performers from the subsidiaries of Gazprom concluded at Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan. In the course of one month, around 500 representatives of all of the company’s structural units vied for the right to participate in this competition. Eventually, more than 200 employees and their family members made it to the final stage of the Festival’s first round, demonstrating their creative and artistic credentials before a jury of reputable artists and directors, painters, and choreographers well-known in Astrakhan.

The two-day competition had ten categories for all age groups: Folklore, Vocals, Choreography, Performance Art, Recitation, Circus and Variety Acts, Singing and Songwriting, Visual Arts, Decorative and Applied Arts, and Art Photography. Top prizes went to six children’s acts and seven adult acts.

Background

Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan, a subsidiary of Gazprom, is a single industrial complex focused on the production and treatment of formation fluid from the Astrakhanskoye gas and condensate field, with resulting marketable products.

The company’s core activities include gas and gas condensate production and processing, as well as manufacturing of marketable products. Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan’s capacities allow for the annual production and processing of up to 12 billion cubic meters of gas. The company produces a wide range of products, including dry marketable gas, stable gas condensate, all types of sulfur, gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, liquefied natural gas, and natural gas liquids.

Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan accounts for 10 and 80 per cent of the global and Russian sulfur markets, respectively.

The integrated management system of Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan meets the requirements of four international standards: ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System. Requirements), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System. Requirements with guidance for use), OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), and ISO 50001:2011 (Energy Management System. Requirements).

The company employs over 10,500 people. It is headquartered in Astrakhan.
