Over 500 children took part in the annual charitable Christmas celebration organized by the Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol gas workers.
Children from the social rehabilitation center for minors of Tishchenskoye village, Solnyshko orphanage No. 4 of Solnechnodolsk settlement, the boarding school of Podluzhnoye village as well as Sunday school pupils and children from low-income and multi-child families of the Izobilnensky District of the Stavropol Territory came to Ryzdvyany settlement.
The celebration started in the morning in the Church of the Nativity of Christ built by gas workers in Ryzdvyany settlement. Then the children visited the Culture and Sports Palace of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol, where tables with food and drinks were waiting for them along with the concert prepared by the creative teams of the Culture and Sports Palace. Alexey Zavgorodnev, Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol addressed the celebration participants from the stage.
“Holding Christmas celebrations in our company has become a good tradition long ago,” highlighted Alexey Zavgorodnev in his speech. “By organizing these meetings, we would like the serene ideas of this holiday to accompany you through all your life and guide you only for doing good deeds.”
After the performance the children got sweet presents, office kits and Christmas cards.
Background
Being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol is comprised of 19 branches. The company maintains the line pipes passing through 10 Russian constituent entities and conveying some 70 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The gas pipelines length exceeds 8,000 kilometers. Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol operates 12 compressor stations, 18 workshops and 10 types of gas compressor units (109 items); 13 CNG filling stations with the total capacity of 4,450 refills a day, which makes it possible to sell 92 million cubic meters of compressed natural gas a year; four CNG conversion shops and three shops for the certification of CNG cylinders.
