Within the 2013 Labor Glory Museums competition the Gazprom Transgaz Saratov Museum won in the Succession of Generations nomination and Ekaterina Gracheva, senior specialist of the PR and Media Relations Service of Gazprom Transgaz Saratov became the best museum worker. Winner’s diplomas were awarded by Vasily Artin, Director of the Municipal Youth Center and Deputy of the Saratov City Duma. The competition of labor glory museums is held in Saratov for the first time with a view to promote youth’s civic and patriotic education and exhibition activities. Labor glory museums of about 20 enterprises of the Saratov Region took part in the competition.
The Gazprom Transgaz Saratov Museum was established in 2012. The museum exposition presents documentary materials about the construction and operation of the first Saratov – Moscow gas pipeline and Russia’s first Central Asia – Center transcontinental gas pipeline network as well as interactive boards, fitted with modern facilities, telling about the current activities of Gazprom and Gazprom Transgaz Saratov.
In 2013, apart from the main activities – preserving and passing the traditions of gas industry pioneers and positioning Gazprom and Gazprom Transgaz Saratov – the company’s museum conducted a number of events aimed at moral and patriotic education of the young generation of Saratov and the Saratov Region under the symbolic title – Make the Circle Wider. Meetings with the gas industry veterans, thematic talks, contests and quizzes were organized. In 2013 alone over 10,000 children between 5 and 16 years old visited the museum.
On the New Year's Eve the museum hosted the Secrets from Grandmother’s Casket festive event for young residents of Saratov featuring the performance of a folk ensemble from the Yelshanka settlement music school.
