Car race for Gazprom Dobycha Nadym Cup takes place

On April 5 Pangody hosted a car race for the Gazprom Dobycha Nadym Cup.

The competitions were held for three vehicle classes: customized VAZ 2108 and VAZ 2109 cars with two-wheel drives and up to 1,600 cubic centimeters displacement (A-1,600), the same car models in standard arrangement (D2N) and four-wheel drives UAZs (T1–2500).

Taking part in the race were 32 race crews from Omsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Tyumen, Nadym and Pangody settlement. A total of four medal sets were competed for: in three vehicle classes and in the team event.

In T1–2500 class the first prize was won by Valery Zhuravlev from Nadym, the second and the third prizes went to Pangody citizens Andrey Lushchayev and Anatoly Ilyin respectively.

The race on customized cars was won by Kirill Rasputin from Tyumen, the second and the third places correspondingly were won by Viktor Karpunin and Alexander Kharchenko from Nizhnevartovsk.

Among the classic VAZ car crews the first place went to Nadym citizen Sergey Tribunsky, the second place on the podium went to another Nadym citizen – Eduard Zhovtonog, and Alexander Savchenko from Novy Urengoy came third.

Traditionally, the race participants who had shown decent results in the race but hadn’t made it to the top three were awarded encouragement prizes in different nominations: For Most Spectacular Driving, For First Roll over Roof, For Most Serious Damage, Audience Choice Award and others.

In the team event among the Gazprom Dobycha Nadym branches, the victory was secured by the drivers of the Medvezhinskoye Gas Production Directorate, the second place went to the team of the Services and Buildings Maintenance Directorate, and the employees of the Utility and Special Vehicles Directorate of Gazprom Dobycha Nadym won bronze.

Not only could the competition guests admire the spectacular race, they also had a chance to refresh themselves at the mobile catering facilities on the site. In addition, the Russia: Remarkable Dates interactive installation dedicated to the Year of Culture in Russia was set up for the event participants in the open air.

Another competition held in addition to the race was the Fuel Duel – a battle between fuels, i.e. natural gas and gasoline. Two identical cars filled by one of the mentioned fuels worth RUB 100 were tested for run time and cleanliness of emissions. Natural gas became the absolute winner in both nominations.
