On January 22, 2013 the Mettalurg-Forum sports and recreation complex of Nizhny Tagil hosted a festive awarding ceremony of the Urals Federal District professional skills competition dubbed We Glorify the Man of Labor.
The winners were greeted by Igor Kholmanskikh, Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President to the Urals Federal District, Oleg Bogomolov, Governor of the Kurgan Region, Yakov Silin, Vice-Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, as well as delegations from all constituents of the Urals Federal District.
Dmitry Koryukov, electric welder from Emergency Response Center No.3 – branch of Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg took the third place in the district competition in the Best Welder of the Urals Federal District nomination. Looking back, in November 2012 the electric welder with a 12-year work experience had taken the first place in the regional professional skills competition named We Glorify the Man of Labor in the Best Welder of the Sverdlovsk Region nomination.
“I’m very pleased that experience and skills of gas industry workers are rewarded on the highest level, that our work is not only noted but also rewarded! I’d like this victory to be a service present dedicated to the upcoming 50th anniversary of our company,” Dmitry Koryukov noted.
Background
Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom focused on gas transmission facilities maintenance, as well as the blue fuel transmission and distribution in four Regions: Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan and Orenburg. Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg runs over 8,700 kilometers of gas trunklines and gas laterals, 18 compressor stations, 280 gas distribution stations, 30 CNG filling stations.
In 2012 professional skills competition were held in all the Urals Federal District constituents. More than 8 thousand workers from about 500 companies of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Tyumen Regions, as well as Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Areas took part in the competition. More than 4 thousand workers from 200 companies in the Sverdlovsk Region alone participated in the competition rounds. ‘Men of labor’ competed in 9 categories. The participants demonstrated their high level of professionalism in three rounds: in the company, in the Region and in the Urals Federal District.
