The meeting was hosted by School No.6 of Nadym. More than 50 high-school students gathered to listen to Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Nadym, who is also a Deputy of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Legislative Assembly, and ask him questions.

Sergey Menshikov told the students about the history and specific features of work at the company he headed and about the kind of professionals the company needed. A documentary film about gasification was shown to the students to help them visualize the process of gas production and transmission to consumers.

The senior students showed keen interest in the employment at the company. They asked Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Nadym about what professions would be in demand in the nearest future, which of them were ‘female’ and purely ‘male’ ones. The students were also interested in Sergey Menshikov’s personal career development experience and in his opinion about cultural and sports progress in the region.

It is not only in Nadym that Sergey Menshikov conducts such meetings with high-school students. Not too long ago a similar event took place at one of the schools in the Yar-Sale settlement. “Such meetings with school leavers help them get a deeper understanding of working peculiarities at a gas production company, of what the company demands from its employees and, consequently, allows them to choose their future profession,” Sergey Menshikov noted.

Background

Being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, Gazprom Dobycha Nadym is primarily focused on gas and gas condensate production and treatment.

The company was established on December 1, 1971. The first gas production company in the northern region of Western Siberia, it was designed to develop and operate the Medvezhye oil, gas and condensate field. Nowadays, Gazprom Dobycha Nadym also develops the Yubileynoye and Yamsoveyskoye fields. In 2012 the company commissioned the Bovanenkovo field, the largest one in the Yamal Peninsula. The company holds the subsurface use license for the Kharasaveyskoye gas and condensate field which is currently at the pre-development stage.
