Test start of the third gas turbine unit (GTU-3), which is part of the second power unit of the station, took place at the Adler TPP.
Conducted tests will enable to proceed to ‘hot’ pre-commissioning procedures, including the start of GTU-3 generator tests, its synchronization to power networks and further GTU setting up at load.
In the meantime, general improvement and landscaping of the Adler TPP site has started, being one of the final construction stages. This stage includes the following activities: laying concrete bases for on-site roads and pavements, setting borders and asphalt paving, streetlight installation, planting trees and bushes, laying the lawns.
Background
The Adler TPP is included into the Program for Construction of Olympic Venues and Development of Sochi as a Mountain Climate Resort. The Adler TPP is to be commissioned in 2012 according to the Olympic venues construction schedule. Adler TPP will be a key power generating facility in Sochi and adjacent areas.
