The festive opening was attended by Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, President of the Tatarstan Volleyball Federation and Rafkat Kantykov, Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan, President of the Zenit-Kazan volleyball club.

In addition to residents of Kazan and other Tatarstan cities, 160 teams from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Omsk and other cities fought for the victory in the competitions.
The Zenit Summer Cup has taken place for the fourth time with the assistance of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan. The final gala match was the major event of the tournament. The Kazan team Dva Tolstyaka (Artem Panarin and Pavel Glagolev), champions of the Zenit 2012 Cup, played with Valerio Vermilio and Igor Kolodinsky from the Zenit-Kazan volleyball club.
The three top places among men were taken by the Dva Tolstyaka, Almetyevsk and Samara. The prize winners among girls were the Pallada, Rumba and Plyazh teams.
