Car racing in Pangody settlement

On April 7 the Pangody settlement hosted the Gazprom Dobycha Nadym Cup Car Racing Competitions. The competitions were held in T1 class comprising 4x4 four-wheeled off-road vehicles produced in Russia and having the engine size of up to 3,000 cubic centimeters as well as in A-1600 class made up of front-drive cars with the engine size of up to 1,600 cubic centimeters.
Racing applications were submitted by 32 sportsmen from Nadym, Surgut, Nefteyugansk, Nizhnevartovsk, Novy Urengoy, Omsk and Pangody.
Following the T1 racing results, the lead was taken by Dmitry Shulakov, who was also the first to cross the finish line in the super ride for the Gazprom Dobycha Nadym Director General Prize. The second place was taken by Alexander Dorofeyev, the third – by Anatoly Ilyin. All three prize winners represented Gazprom Dobycha Nadym at the competitions.
The A-1600 class race was won by Leonid Tabolin, a car enthusiast from Surgut. Vitaly Pishchev representing NadymStroyInvest was the runner-up and Andrey Ivashchenko from Surgut finished third. The super ride was won by Dmitry Bondarenko from Pangody.
Consolation prizes were awarded to the participants who failed to finish in the top three but demonstrated good training skills and nice performance. The audience favorite prize was given to Vladimir Novozhilov from Pangody. His fellow countryman Dmitry Shikolov was awarded by a prize for the roll over the roof. Andrey Votyakov from Nadym received an award for efficient driving. The prize for the will to victory was given to Valery Zhuravlev from Nadym.
The 15 year old Alexander Savchenko from Novy Urengoy was the youngest participant of the competitions.
In their free time the car racing participants and visitors could taste the food served by mobile kitchen trailers and enjoy the School of Today’s Gas Producer open-air interactive installation.
Background
Gazprom Dobycha Nadym is Gazprom’s wholly-owned subsidiary focused on gas and gas condensate production and treatment. The first gas production company in the northern region of Western Siberia was designed to develop and operate the Medvezhye oil, gas and condensate field. Nowadays, Gazprom Dobycha Nadym also develops the Yubileynoye and Yamsoveyskoye fields and holds the subsurface use licenses for the Kharasaveyskoye gas and condensate field and the Bovanenkovskoye oil, gas and condensate field currently in the pre-development stage.
