Reindeer Herder's Day on Yamal

Representatives from Gazprom subsidiaries – Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy and Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg – took part in the Reindeer Herder’s Day in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO). Celebrations took part in Nadym, Taz, Krasnoselkup and Pur Districts of the Okrug.

Nenets amateur teams performed in the towns and settlements of the YaNAO. Indigenous sports tournaments were held – sledge jumps, tug of war, throwing of tynzyan on khorey. The key event of the celebration is a reindeer race. The best sportsmen were given valuable prizes – snowmobiles presented by gas producing companies.

This year the YaNAO municipalities, where Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy and Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg operate, were given RUB 7,000,000 as part of charitable programs to organize and celebrate the Reindeer Herder's Day.
