The 6th annual Warmth of Children’s Hearts festival took place from September 6 to September 9 at the Samorodovo recreation camp for children from Orenburg region orphan homes. It is conducted within the Gazprom for Children program.
Children’s holiday arrangers and sponsors were traditionally enterprises-members of the Gazprom in Orenburzhye non-commercial partnership (NP). The gasmen initiative was supported by the Orenburg Oblast Government and the Legislative Assembly, the Orenburg Administration and blessed by Metropolitan Valentin of Orenburg and Buzuluk.

More than 400 children from orphan homes and boarding schools of the Orenburg region arrived to the festival. Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg brought children from the Sverdlovsk Oblast for the fifth time; this year children of an orphan home from Uralsk city of Kazakhstan joined them. The Russian-Kazakhstan KazRosGaz joint venture arranged their arrival.
“I am confident that such projects of Gazprom promote children’s creativity development, help to lay a foundation of friendship among children from different countries,” said Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee in his welcoming address to children’s forum participants.
An activity program of the event included the Spartakiada Games, artistic and applied arts exhibition, a competition in knowledge of the native history, a show of amateur art activities and a wall newspaper contest. Children worked as correspondents of the Warmth of Children’s Hearts newspaper and hosts of the same named radio.
“All children are talented,” Sergey Ivanov, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg is convinced, “our objective is to help to open these talents. It is happiness when children are close and when they are happy and cheerful. Children fill our life with special meaning and hope.”
Children from 16 boarding institutions were additionally invited to the festival closing ceremony. Each young participant received sportswear and memorable gifts with the festival logo. All orphan homes and boarding schools received special presents from sponsors: sets of sport, tourist and computer equipment; classroom and outdoor equipment.
The total amount of funds which were channeled by the Gazprom in Orenburzhye non-commercial partnership for the festival is more than RUB 5 million.
“Gazprom is the most socially oriented company in our region,” underlined Tatyana Simokhina, Orenburg Oblast Social Development Minister“, the great festival is a clear evidence of that”.
The Spire of Hope action took place at the end of the Warmth of Children’s Hearts festival: children from orphan homes planted 18 pine trees seedlings. 54 trees in all grow along the Samorodovo young alley, which have been planted by festival participants over the previous 3 years.
Background
Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. The company is primarily focused on hydrocarbons production, processing and transmission.
The Gazprom in Orenburzhye non-commercial partnership of gas industry companies was established in 2007. It is an association of 30 enterprises which are interested in strengthening of image and positions in the region, efficient implementation of the Gazprom for Children program and the Orenburg Oblast gasification.
In 2006 the Warmth of Children’s Hearts festival took place for the first time. Since then over 400 children annually come to a camp from the Orenburg region and the Sverdlovsk Oblast orphan homes and boarding schools. Besides delegations from the Orenburg region, children from the Samara and Ulyanovsk Oblasts arrived to take part in the event in various years. More than 3,600 children have participated in the festival over 6 years.
