The main stage of Orenburg’s Gazovik Palace hosted the 10th festival of patriotic song, named Hope Flare from October 26 to 28. The event was sponsored by Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg.
Taking part in the festival were vocal bands, pop groups and instrumental groups as well as singers in the age from 5 to 21. The total number of singers was over 400. They have sung 200 compositions.
The festival jury consisted of the prominent culture and art figures from Orenburg, Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg representatives as well as the Municipal Administration. The jury was headed by Nikolai Uryupin, Chairman of the company’s Unified Trade Union.
“Our young artists are beautiful, gifted and patriotic. We saw it while watching the contest. I am sure that they will become good and clever persons making the country stronger and richer. Thanks Gazprom for keeping this tradition. Such contests are of public interest because they help to educate and bring up next generations,” said Valery Krasnov, Head of the Culture Office in the Orenburg City Hall, Honored Culture Worker of the Russian Federation.
On October 28 the festival ended with an awarding ceremony and gala concert of the winners. Among the winners and laureates were the young singers from Orenburg, Orsk, Gai, Novotroitsk, Orenburg, Oktyabrskoye, Perevolotsk and other Districts of the Oblast.

Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. The company is primarily focused on hydrocarbons production, processing and transmission.
Hope Flare, festival of patriotic song was set up by Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg in 2001. Since 2007 it is one of the major events organized as part of the Gazprom for Children program.
