New sports and health center inaugurated in Volkhov

Volkhov hosted a ceremonial inauguration of the Gazovik sports and health center (SHC) built by Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg as part of Gazprom for Children program.
Taking part in the event were Sergey Naryshkin, Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, Valery Serdyukov, Governor of the Leningrad Oblast, Svetlana Zhurova, Member of the State Duma, Georgy Fokin, Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg.
Gazovik is the fourth sport facility opened by Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg during the last two years. The sport centers in Torzhok, Pikalevo and Rzhev (where the company’s subsidiaries are located) have already opened the doors for all the amateur sportsmen.
The Gazovik SHC has all the necessary equipment to play futsal, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis as well as to do aerobics. The total area of the complex equals 2,480 square meters.

Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom focusing on natural gas transmission in Northwestern Russia.
The Gazprom for Children program is the largest social project of Gazprom. From 2007 to date the Company has allocated over RUB 10.9 billion to implement the program.
It is a nation-wide program. It embraces over 69 regions of the country. 40 Gazprom subsidiary companies and organizations as well as regional gas companies, making part of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz structure, take part in the program.
