Great Victory Day

Between May 3 and 9, 2011 the Gazprom UGS branch companies hosted celebrations dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
These days, the company’s employees met with veterans, arranged festive concerts, tea parties, transportation of kitchen trailers and peace relay races. Employees from branch companies met with more than 600 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor front. Gratitude was expressed, memorable gifts and individual aid was rendered to those who had served at the frontline and at the homefront.
Heads and employees of branch companies took part in solemn processions and rallies commemorating those who were killed in battlefields of the Great Patriotic War fighting for independence of our Motherland.
On the threshold of the Victory Day, repair operations were completed for 25 Warriors-Liberators Monuments located in the company’s activity areas. Charitable aid was also rendered for Councils of the Great Patriotic War Veterans.
Background
Being Gazprom’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Gazprom UGS holds 25 underground storage facilities located in Russia. The company encompasses 24 branches in 15 regions of the Russian Federation. The company’s goal is to arrange natural gas storage. Its major activities are injection, storage and withdrawal of natural gas from UGS facilities.
